Cross Country and Downhill Ski Combo Trip

Blow me down – we’ll be skiing in Newfoundland! 


    Trip Highlights

    • Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Blow Me Down Trails and Gros Morne World Heritage Site!

    Yes, High Park is returning to Newfoundland with an all-sport trip. The Cross-country and Snowshoe resort really is called Blow Me Down Trails. Downhill skiing and snowboarding will be available at Marble Mountain.  Daily transportation will be via U-Drive mini-vans allowing flexible destination options for those who like to XC, DH or both!  This trip will take place the same week as the Corner Brook Winter Carnival.  As part of the package, we'll also include a screech-in where you get to kiss a cod and drink screech, Newfoundland’s famous rum.  We will also have a day trip to Gros Morne World Heritage Site for XC and snowshoeing.

    Cost: $1530 (cheque discounted price)

    Based on Minimum of 28 participants

    Deposit: $500 + cost of insurance if taken due at time of booking. If paying by cheque please bring 2 cheques for both deposit and final balance.

    NOTE – ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

    Deviation charges: Any person deviating from the group itinerary will be charged $100.00 + HST plus any additional charges imposed by the suppliers and airlines. Deviations are on a request basis.  (subject to availability)

    Passport / Travel Documents:

    Canadian Citizens: Travel within Canada – PHOTO ID is a requirement to board all aircraft.

    Note:  Members are solely responsible to ensure that their travel documents are complete, valid and in order.

    Cancellation Policy:

    Cancellation Policies are set by the Tour Operators, not HPSC.  Please consider your commitment carefully before booking your trip. 

    Cancellation penalties are:

    (A) Deposit is 100% non-refundable ($500.00) per person + insurance cost

    (B) Balance is 100% non-refundable as of Balance Due Date (December 17) but a name change ($100.00) is allowed if the trip is sold out

    (C) Name changes must be done by January 2, 2017

    Optional Travel Insurance:

    Comprehensive Travel Insurance is available to protect non-refundable payments in the event that participants are forced to cancel their vacation prior to departure or interrupt vacation due to medical reasons.  See menu above for HPSC Insurance advice and Tour Operator’s Insurance Table.  All Insurance payments must accompany deposit in order to be valid.

    Insurance is nonrefundable from date of issuance.  Please note that any unused portion of a ski trip will not be refunded as per conditions above. Passengers must submit a claim to their insurance company if they cancel after the above dates.

    The Fine Print:  Tickets are 100% nonrefundable once issued. Name changes and deviations are not permitted once ticketed.  Individuals must ensure that all names are spelled correctly and match their personal identification on their passport.  The Tour Operator and Airline will not be held liable for delays or cancellations caused by strikes, labor disputes, government actions, weather or any cause beyond the Tour Operator’s or Airline’s control. The Airline reserves the right to change equipment or schedules. The customer hereby releases and waives any claims against the Airline and Tour Operator regarding cancellation or schedule changes.

    Resort Info:

    Blow Me Down Trails: Located in a snow belt on Newfoundland’s West Coast, the city of Corner Brook receives an average of 16 feet of snow fall each year. Trails are groomed and trackset for classic and skate skiing, all trails are open to snowshoeing as well.

    At Blow Me Down Trails, there’s something for everyone. The trail system can accommodate all levels of cross country skiing ability, from the first time skier to the elite athlete. Whether you are looking for a peaceful relaxing experience with nature or a tough workout…. They have it all!

    Blow Me Down’s full service cafe is open seven days a week, providing great home cooked meals as well as a healthy choices menu. The cafe is also fully licensed, so feel free to relax by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate or cool down with a frosty brew!

    Remember that their Wednesday lunch special is a traditional Jiggs Dinner.

    Whaleback XC trails: If conditions permits, we will also travel to Whaleback which is located in Stephenville with 25 kms of trails, that are groomed daily. 

    Marble Mountain: Challenging terrain, an abundance of snow and short lift lines, these are just a few of the reasons people flock to Marble Mountain. Our vertical drop is the highest of any ski resort in Atlantic Canada, and we offer some of the best skiing and snowboarding east of the Rockies. Come Out and Play!
