Resort Info:

Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges and most notably the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. The north side of the summit of Mont Blanc, and therefore the summit itself are part of the village of Chamonix.  The Chamonix commune is popular with skiers and mountain enthusiasts, and via the cable car lift to the Aiguille du Midi it is possible to access the off-piste (backcountry) ski run of the Vallée Blanche. With an area of 245 km2 (95 sq mi), Chamonix is the fourth largest commune in area in mainland France.

A tranquil Alpine retreat it may not be, but Chamonix’s setting beneath the cliffs and tumbling glaciers of the Mont Blanc massif is tremendous, and the bustling town doesn't lack charm. Its old buildings have kept their sedate Victorian and more fanciful Belle Epoque look and, now that the centre is traffic-free, it offers pleasant strolling, with cafés overhanging the river Arve’s torrent and a wealth of interesting shops – galleries, bookshops and speciality food, as well as souvenirs and the latest technical snow-sports clothing and hardware.

The Chamonix Valley is considered by many to be the best freeride resort in the world. With its 5 ski resorts (Grands Montets, Les Houches, Le Tour/Balme, La Flegere and Le Brevent) Chamonix Mont-Blanc offers the perfect ski holiday.

Hotel Info:

The Club Med Resort of Chamonix Mont-Blanc has 249 rooms contained in 3 connecting hotel wings. The Resort is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the centre of Chamonix. The Savoy hotel: 5-floor main building with a lift where the restaurant, bar and Reception are situated. The Mont Blanc hotel: the second 5-floor building with an elevator is attached to the Savoy hotel. The Brévent hotel: a new 4-floor building with an elevator, has a Spa and direct access to the heated outdoor swimming pool. It is connected to two other buildings by a sheltered walkway. The refined ambiance of the main restaurant welcomes you to enjoy its general international buffets. The wide glass-panelled bay windows look out over the town, the ski-slopes of Savoy, over the peaks of Chamonix, or the mountains in the south of France, and even Mont Blanc. Price includes drinks served by the glass and at the bar only: water, fruit juices and sodas, hot drinks and cocktails with and without alcohol, wines and local and international spirits.  On the ground floor of the Mont Blanc building, The Refuge restaurant offers a menu of savoy specialities: raclette, fondue or stone grill.  Plus: after a morning on the slopes, just head for Le Flégère! 2,000 metres up on the pistes of La Flégère ski area, this is the perfect place for a well-deserved lunch in the mountains, with amazing views of Chamonix and Mont Blanc from the terrace.  Club Med holidays include 6 days skiing, 5 days group ski and snowboard lessons, gourmet dining and open bar, after ski activities and entertainment, free wi-fi and gratuities.

The first morning, you will take a test in order to establish your level in order to put you in to the right group:

  • ·         Beginners class: you have never skiied/snowboarded before
  • ·         Class 1: you can regulate your speed and your trajectory on blue runs
  • ·         Class 2: you ski/board at an average speed on red runs
  • ·         Class 3: You ski/board easily down all slopes
  • ·         Expert: You ski/board easily on any slopes and on any kind of snow
