High Park Ski Club

How do you learn to love winter? Skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing is just part of the answer. The other part is building lifelong relationships with your fellow High Park Ski Club members. Winter sports or year round activities are better enjoyed with great friends and that’s where we come in!

Social Events

Our club is well known for its trips, lessons, and socials! Social events are a great way to network and build lasting friendships within the club. Our group activities are built to promote social mingling, networking and connecting with like-minded people. At our member events, you will quickly get to know existing members and be made to feel part of the group. So many of our members have developed lasting friendships and life-long memories within our club!

We arrange social gatherings for all ages, with a range of activities from Annual General Meeting - warm gathering of friends, Annual Climb The Mountain Hiking day trip at Blue Mountain, HaPpy Hours and more! Toronto is a vibrant, bustling metropolis and offers so much to see and do; and we strive to plan something for everyone. No matter your age, gender, ethnicity, we have an activity for you! Our social events provide a fantastic opportunity to step out and try something new amongst good company.

Let us figure out the details and join us to create your own stories with our eclectic group of fun, sociable people. Just register and show up! If you are interested to learn more about our club before joining - social events are your perfect opportunities!

    Come enjoy the outdoors and make new friends. This is a free, fun and social event with athletic activities to suit a variety of fitness levels. We have something for everyone who wants to start getting ready for winter. 

    For this year we will continue as a members only event.  New members welcome.  Registration opens on Tuesday October 12th.

    8:55 am Meet in High Park, under the trees on the north side of the Grenadier Restaurant parking lot. See map below.

    9:00 am A fun warm up with introductions.  Includes agility and balance exercises.

    9:15 am We head off to enjoy a variety of activities. Walk, run, Nordic pole walking...  We have groups for every fitness level.  Nordic pole walking guidance offered.  Bring your own walking poles. This year we will not be providing poles to borrow.

    10:30 am A stretching session led by our volunteers, and announcements of upcoming events.

    11:00 am Unfortunately the Grenadier Cafe is not open on the weekend.  

    Ski Fit is a free program for all club members. Register and come check us out. We meet rain or shine. Wet weather can be even more fun as we benefit from the leafy tree canopy and park shelters.

    Getting Here

    Location: 180 Colborne Lodge Dr., Toronto. In the centre of High Park. Meet on the North side of the Grenadier parking lot, under the trees.

    By TTC: Just a few minutes walk south from the High Park subway station.
    By Car: According the the High Park website, the park is closed to vehicles on the weekend. If driving you will need to find a parking space outside of the park.

    What to bring? Wear running or walking shoes and apparel to suit the weather. Hiking poles if you have them (optional).

    Back by popular demand! Come and workout with Stefan Overgaard (Level 3 CSIA instructor and Level 2 racing coach) and his staff.  This series has 7 sessions, each to be purchased individually for $12.50/session (+tax). 

    Each workout emphasizes strength, power, speed, agility, coordination, mobility, flexibility and injury prevention.  All exercises can be modified based on participants strength and comfort level. 

    These classes are normally $25 per class when bought as a package, but HPSC is offering them to members for $12.50 (+tax)!

    The session starts promptly at 4:00, and runs for 1.5 hours. Participants should wear comfortable gym clothing and bring clean/indoor running shoes, a water bottle, and a towel.  COVID protocols in alignment with Public Health guidelines are in place and can be reviewed herehttp://www.sxsfitness.ca/gym-protocols.html

    NOTE:  ONLY THOSE MEMBERS WHO HAVE PROVIDED THEIR VACCINATION PROOF CAN REGISTER FOR THESE SESSIONS.

    Free parking is available on Peveril Hill, Chiltern Hill and in the Green P parking lot (north side of Eglinton, across from the Rexall). To get free parking at Green P, "pay" for 3 hours, hit "session options" at the bottom of the screen, then press "discounts". Type in "crosstown" for free parking.

    Stefan Overgaard is the owner and founder of SXS Fitness (Sculpted by Stefan) and Crossfit Eglinton which is a division of SXS. Stefan brings plenty of practical experience in ski-specific fitness: being a former member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and currently U16 extended program race coach at Osler Bluff Ski Club. He is very adept with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for both performance enhancements and injury prevention for skiers (and athletes) of ALL levels. SXS Fitness is also an official partner of Alpine Ontario where they provide fitness testing and contribute to weekly articles on a wide variety of topics ranging from stress relief tactics to nutrition to the best exercises/stretches to do at home.

    The staff at SXS Fitness currently train athletes from many sports. They focus on everything from strength and power training to speed, agility, coordination, mobility, flexibility and injury prevention. SXS also has a wellness division which provides Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, Naturopathic and Chiropractic treatments to complement their holistic approach to keeping the body running optimally.

    Our club provides GUIDED TOURS during the overnight BUS trips: get your mileage, tips and continuous learning & improvement on the big mountains with different weather and snow conditions and our own certified DH & XC ski instructors!

    You must join the club and pay the membership fee for 2021-2022 to be eligible to register. Do this well before registration night as it may take a few days for your membership to be approved, read more


    Most importantly, please don't sign up frivolously. Sign up because you want to go on the trip. You could be taking a space from another member who really wants a seat. Remember your $100 deposit is non-refundable.

    Registration will remain open 24 hrs a day until a trip is sold out.

    Stefan Overgaard is the owner and founder of SXS Fitness (Sculpted by Stefan) and Crossfit Eglinton which is a division of SXS. Stefan brings plenty of practical experience in ski-specific fitness: being a former member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and currently U16 extended program race coach at Osler Bluff Ski Club. He is very adept with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for both performance enhancements and injury prevention for skiers (and athletes) of ALL levels. SXS Fitness is also an official partner of Alpine Ontario where they provide fitness testing and contribute to weekly articles on a wide variety of topics ranging from stress relief tactics to nutrition to the best exercises/stretches to do at home.

    The staff at SXS Fitness currently train athletes from many sports. They focus on everything from strength and power training to speed, agility, coordination, mobility, flexibility and injury prevention. SXS also has a wellness division which provides Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, Naturopathic and Chiropractic treatments to complement their holistic approach to keeping the body running optimally.

    Come enjoy the outdoors and make new friends. This is a free, fun and social event with athletic activities to suit a variety of fitness levels. We have something for everyone who wants to start getting ready for winter. 

    For this year we will continue as a members only event.  New members welcome. Registration opens on Tuesday November 16th. 

    THIS YEAR WE WILL CONTINUE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS.

    8:55 am Meet in High Park, under the trees on the north side of the Grenadier Restaurant parking lot. See map below.

    9:00 am A fun warm up with introductions.  Includes agility and balance exercises.

    9:15 am We head off to enjoy a variety of activities. Walk, run, Nordic pole walking...  We have groups for every fitness level.  Nordic pole walking guidance offered.  Bring your own walking poles. This year we will not be providing poles to borrow.

    10:30 am A stretching session led by our volunteers, and announcements of upcoming events.

    11:00 am Unfortunately the Grenadier Cafe is not open on the weekend.  

    Ski Fit is a free program for all club members. Register and come check us out. We meet rain or shine. Wet weather can be even more fun as we benefit from the leafy tree canopy and park shelters.

    Getting Here

    Location: 180 Colborne Lodge Dr., Toronto. In the centre of High Park. Meet on the North side of the Grenadier parking lot, under the trees.

    By TTC: Just a few minutes walk south from the High Park subway station.
    By Car: According the the High Park website, the park is closed to vehicles on the weekend. If driving you will need to find a parking space outside of the park.

    What to bring? Wear running or walking shoes and apparel to suit the weather. Hiking poles if you have them (optional).

    Back by popular demand! Come and workout with Stefan Overgaard (Level 3 CSIA instructor and Level 2 racing coach) and his staff.  This series has 7 sessions, each to be purchased individually for $12.50/session (+tax). 

    Each workout emphasizes strength, power, speed, agility, coordination, mobility, flexibility and injury prevention.  All exercises can be modified based on participants strength and comfort level. 

    These classes are normally $25 per class when bought as a package, but HPSC is offering them to members for $12.50 (+tax)!

    The session starts promptly at 4:00, and runs for 1.5 hours. Participants should wear comfortable gym clothing and bring clean/indoor running shoes, a water bottle, and a towel.  COVID protocols in alignment with Public Health guidelines are in place and can be reviewed herehttp://www.sxsfitness.ca/gym-protocols.html

    NOTE:  ONLY THOSE MEMBERS WHO HAVE PROVIDED THEIR VACCINATION PROOF CAN REGISTER FOR THESE SESSIONS.

    Free parking is available on Peveril Hill, Chiltern Hill and in the Green P parking lot (north side of Eglinton, across from the Rexall). To get free parking at Green P, "pay" for 3 hours, hit "session options" at the bottom of the screen, then press "discounts". Type in "crosstown" for free parking.
