Cross-Country ski & Showshoe Day Trips

2020-2021 SEASON UPDATE

We are currently planning the best we can for our season given COVID-19. To make the experience as safe as we can for members, the following policies will be in place: reduced bus capacity (approximately 30 people), one bus/trip (meaning trips are limited to 30 bus spots), mandatory masks (worn properly) in all indoor spaces (bus and resort), and using the bus as our lunch spot. Be prepared for very little access to indoor space at the resorts this season (basically just washroom access). We recommend bringing a pack to ski with that has food and extra clothing. It will definitely be a different experience this year! Think of yourself as a backcountry explorer.

Ski school is committed to providing lessons, although we may have to scale down our offerings in the interest of adhering to public health guidelines to keep everyone safe as well as based on our instructor availability. Luckily our classes are usually small and physical distancing when teaching isn't a problem.

We have one drive-up overnight trip scheduled for the long weekend - Huntsville! Opportunities to ski at Arrowhead, Algonquin, and the Frost Centre. The hotel is fully refundable 24 hours in advance, and the rooms come with microwaves and fridges, so you can bring much of your own food. You just need to find a way to get yourself up there. Check out the overnight trips page for more info.

Stay tuned to the website and the blog for more information as it becomes available. We ask for your patience as the situation is very fluid.

The membership fee is set at $140. If you do not use your membership by January 31st, and do not want to use it the rest of the season, you can email the club and request that it be deferred to the following season.

We are excited to get out skiing! Keep healthy and safe in the meantime.

Best,

Heather Steel, Director, Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

“I grew up in a country with a subtropical climate and after moving to Canada, I found it hard to enjoy winter…until I joined HPSC! My instructors are very patient, and my fellow skiers very friendly! Cold is no longer an issue, and now I always hope winter never ends thanks to HPSC!" Yiuyin Chang
