Downhill Cancellation Policy

Update for the 2023/2024 season:

Cancellation Deadlines

This cancellation policy applies to both Bus registrations as well as Drive-up registrations

Please email cancellations@hpsc.ca to cancel your spot for any day trips you cannot attend.

Your credit card will receive a full refund as long as your cancellation was by the following deadlines within 2-3 weeks after the trip departure date :

  • Cancellation for Saturday trips:  by prior Monday 8:00pm before the trip departure date  
  • Cancellation for Sunday/Monday trips:  by prior Monday 8:00pm before the trip departure date 
  • Cancellation for Wednesday trips:  by prior Saturday 8:00pm before the trip departure date

If you do not cancel before the deadlines outlined above, a No-Show fee of $10 will be applied to your account. The bus fare also cannot be refunded after the deadline - as we make decisions to run the bus based on numbers.  Any lift ticket payment, if applicable, would be refunded based on the timelines above, upon request.


If you are sick, leading up to or on the morning of the day trip, please do not come on a bus trip.

Please email cancellations@hpsc.ca as soon as possible and we can make arrangements for cancellations and refunds on a case by case scenario.

Cancellation Due to Weather/Insufficient Registration

In the event that HPSC cancels a day trip, a full refund will be issued. It is not possible to transfer registrations to another trip. You will receive a refund, and please register through the website for future trips. 

Wait lists 

In the event that a trip sells out, we will enable the wait list. This accomplishes two things:

  1. It allows us to see how much interest there is in a trip. If there is enough people on the wait list, we will add a second bus and everyone will get to go. 
  2. There are often cancellations, and if you are high enough on the waitlist, you will usually get on a trip that way. 

Once you are moved onto the trip from the wait list, you will receive an email instructing you to pay within 24 hours. If you do not, you will be removed from the trip and the spot offered to the next person on the list.

The morning after the registration deadline, all payment pending registrations and the wait list are cleared and any available seats will be offered as walk ons if there is space.  Please see the Downhill Day Trips Status Page (you must be logged into your account) for more details.
