Cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Lessons for classic and skate L1-2 and classic and skate tips and trips (L3+) will be offered. Guided snowshoeing will be offered.
Registration opens January 22 at 9pm.
Conditions: Barrie - like everywhere - is going to get significant rain Thursday. Conditions will not be as good as they were last weekend. Hardwood should be able to groom with the snowmobile overnight Saturday. Looks like there could be a 1-3cm of snow Sat. night/Sunday and 1 degree on Sunday, so that could soften up the trails. Beginners will want to stick to flatter trails.
Hardwood has beautiful trails for both skiing and snowshoeing. The main chalet is a beautiful building with indoor dining facilities and washrooms. Bag storage is available outside the main washrooms in the basement of the chalet. Rental equipment is located across from the main chalet. Hot food will also be available. There is also a bar service with beer and wine options.
New: Hardwood has implemented a Non-Fluoro Wax Policy. For details click here.
RENTERS: Renters must book their rentals online directly from Hardwood. The instructions for how to do it and the code to get the discount will be provided a couple days prior to the trip. We recommend that you don't book until close to the trip anyway to ensure the trip is running and you will be on it.
Everyone must also fill out a waiver and bring it on the bus.
