Have you ever seen the professional XC skiers training in the off-season on roller skis? Looks pretty cool, right? Been curious to give roller skiing a try?
This clinic will provide you with the opportunity:
- to try on a pair of roller skis and while in the safety of an empty parking lot (closed to vehicle traffic on weekends)
- learn about the different types of roller skis
- learn a few safety tips
This workshop will be led by HPSC XC Instructor, Andrew M.
Some benefits of roller skiing:
- improve your XC skate and classic techniques
- improve your balance on one leg
- keep your upper body in shape
- maintain your aerobic fitness
- A bike helmet. - Gloves. It is mandatory to wear a bike helmet and gloves.
Recommended that you also wear elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards. There will be a limited set of pads to borrow.
Saturday April 12th, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
High Park. 180 Colborne Lodge Dr., Toronto. In the centre of High Park. Meet in the north east corner of the Grenadier Restaurant parking lot.
Brunch/coffee at the Grenadier Restaurant after the workshop wraps.
Getting Here
By TTC: Just a few minutes walk south from the High Park subway station.
By Car: According to the High Park website, the park is closed to vehicles on the weekend. If driving, you will need to find a parking space outside of the park.
